I'm a first hand witness that many of the members of my then church worked in the Federal Government. From FEMA to the Department of Defense to NASA. The primary goal is to 'reconstruct' the worlds governments so that they mimic Biblical Law based on Genesis 1:28. I also worked to further this goal until I began to question the ones who called themselves my 'spiritual authority'. Afterwards I was kicked out of church.
How does dominionism affect us today? Christians in the political arena don't admit to being dominionists. We've already had two so far to vie for the Presidency: Sarah Palin and Mitt Romney.
And even though they wouldn't admit to being part of plan to reconstruct our society, its become apparent especially with regards to their attendance to prayer rallies.

Were I to go to one of their meetings, I, too, would no doubt be asked to leave as soon as I challenged their authority (which would be inevitable, since I don't believe they have any).
While I'm sure you met some loving individuals there, their leadership is acting unbiblically, or rather, I should say, extra-biblically; however, that, like Mormonism, is also unbiblical.
Basically, you got kicked out for calling something what it is (unbiblical, while pretending to be biblical). While I am sorry for the way it happened, I'm glad that you did what you did. More people need to stand up to bogus, self-appointed authorities.
A major tragey could have been prevented in Jonestown if people had only stood up and denounced the so-called Reverend Jim Jones for what he really was...oy!

Thanks. Either way it's not enough of a reason to return to church. I just don't believe 'god' is real anymore. All my belief was centered around fear and terror. Someone recently told me they wanted me to experience god's love, but how is that possible when I have never seen, felt, heard god? This major reality check has opened other possibilities I never considered.
ReplyDeleteLike...live a little. Make my dreams come true and think about the future. I have more hope now that I am not involved in any religion than I did when I was. I had been convinced that I would always be subject to a religion or a church somewhere and that 'god' would always be dictating. I never thought for myself. Now I do, and I'm happier this way. And no one can take that away, ever. Thanks for posting.

I meant to send you a link to a write up I did about a very strong and determined young woman, Barbie. Being a strong woman yourself, I thought you might find her inspirational; I surely do! The woman is a fitness competitor despite that she has no arms! (amputated at age 2)
